1 CLE (NLS) - The best of legal technology, practice management, electronics, services and incredibly useful websites for lawyers. This rapid-fire hour is full of great ideas you can immediately incorporate into your practice. We’ll cover artificial intelligence legal document editing software, tips for improving your web-meeting game, digital signature platforms (demonstrated), cybersecurity tips and services, home office equipment recommendations, and many other practice management tips, tricks and technologies.
3 CLE (NLS) - Launching a new firm can simultaneously be the most thrilling and scary thing you've ever done. The scary part is the unknown and that's exactly what this seminar attempts to eliminate. You'll get a prioritized checklist of everything that should be on your radar from hardware to software to services; and recommendations on everything from printers to scanners to backup systems to office phone systems.
1 CLE (NLS) - Microsoft 365 is now and the future! It provides the latest Office tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at a reasonable cost and convenience, but it also provides amazing collaboration and time management tools. In this session, our experts will demonstrate how to collaborate using Microsoft Teams, as well as how to use the tools that are a part of this Microsoft subscription … tools that most lawyers overlook, like co-editing Word documents, hosting screen-sharing meetings, instant messaging, allowing clients to book their own appointments, tracking tasks, managing projects, and much more!
3 CLE / 2 E - The new normal includes working remotely. As such, the ability to run a law practice, render services, and manage people without a traditional physical office is critical. In this seminar, we cover the surprising benefits of remote workers, what is needed for practice portability, and the ethical and security issues related to protecting client data when that data is being accessed from outside a traditional office space. You’ll receive recommendations for improving communication, keeping everyone connected, collaboration, remote employee management, extending your cybersecurity umbrella to home workers, configuring an efficient and secure home office, and building a reliable electronic client filing system.
We’ll also discuss the technologies that enable lawyers to draft even the most complex documents without assistance. Finally, we’ll cover digital signature platforms, case management and legal accounting systems that provide unlimited remote access, and how to eliminate the need for traditional, on-premises file servers that typically provide no or poor remote access.
3 CLE / 3 E - The Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct requires lawyers to “keep abreast of changes in the law and its practice, including the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology”. This program will look at the relevance of A.I. on the profession and the ethics and malpractice considerations when using it in your practice.
1 CLE (NLS) - Regardless of the PDF program you use (Acrobat, PowerPDF, pdfDocs or Foxit), this seminar will show you how to maximize its use. We'll cover extremely important functions such as redaction, metadata removal, electronic document security, Bates numbering, splitting/combining PDFs, reducing file-size for electronic case filing, review/comments, and PDF collaboration, adding signatures & stamps, routing PDFs for comments/feedback, and more.
1 CLE (NLS) - Lawyers frequently exchange Word, WordPerfect, and PDF files with other lawyers via email and other document-sharing methods. In this seminar, we’ll explain how to protect your electronic files from being altered when that is appropriate; and the best methods for indicating your proposed changes or soliciting someone else’s proposed changes to an electronic file. We’ll also discuss when Word files are preferable to PDFs and vice-versa. Once the documents are finalized, they often have to be signed; and COVID-19 may have permanently eliminated the days of round table closings and signing documents in someone’s office. As such, digital signature platforms like DocuSign, RightSignature or Adobe Sign have arguably become essential tools for a modern law practice. We’ll explain the benefits of these inexpensive and easy-to-use platforms, and demonstrate (live) how digital signature services can be used by you to sign documents or obtain signatures from others while never seeing each other face-to-face.
3 CLE (NLS) - Join us for a fast-paced 3-Hour CLE session with renowned legal technology expert Paul J. Unger. Discover the latest tips, tricks, apps, and websites that can revolutionize your legal practice. Paul will guide you through essential tools to boost productivity, enhance client services, and streamline workflows. This interactive session is perfect for legal professionals eager to stay ahead in the ever-evolving tech landscape. Don't miss this opportunity to transform your practice with cutting-edge technology insights!
1 CLE (NLS) - To efficiently process daily tasks & emails, you must be organized! In modern times, that means you must have a digital matter/case file that is complete and organized. In other words, to find answers to questions and to solve problems for clients, we mustbe able to efficiently find answers and information. Emails can’t be stuck in users’ inboxes. Some documents can’t be in one place, and other documents in another place. Moreover, we also need effective and secure remote access when working from the road or home. In this seminar, learn how to create that near 100% complete paperless file and how best to properly secure client documents and information!
1 CLE (NLS) - As everyone knows, most legal instruments have numbered paragraphs. Unfortunately, setting up a single or multi-level numbering scheme in Word is neither intuitive nor easy. It is one of the most complained-about features in Word for good reason. In this seminar, we’ll show you how to set up automatic paragraph numbers (single or multi-level), attach them to styles if you choose to do that, and create cross-references that will also automatically update if the document is edited. Finally, we’ll cover techniques for fixing paragraph numbering in existing documents where it has gone sideways.
