Indiana Family Law Update: Same-sex Marriage Breaking News

Case Summary by Mike Kohlhaas, Bingham Greenebaum Doll

The New York Times is reporting this morning that the United States Supreme Court has denied review in the five pending same-sex marriage cases, including the Seventh Circuit’s decision upholding Judge Young’s finding that Indiana’s ban of same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.  The high court’s refusal to hear those pending cases presumably will have the effect of allowing same-sex marriages to proceed in Indiana, as well as Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
